Sold!

About two weeks after the house hit the market, it is now officially sold.  It had been conditional for the bulk of the past week but now the uncertainty is gone as all the conditions on the offer have been waived!  This gives just shy of 3 more months in here in Kitchener, which given the rather large quantity of ice currently on the great lakes should be nearly perfect timing.  However, there are a number of jobs to be completed on the boat this spring before launch, so if spring would like to hurry up I wont complain.  Then we might have a chance of floating by mid June…

As for the ice, it would appear as though we are approaching record levels, at least as far as the past few decades are concerned:  https://www.mlive.com/weather/index.ssf/2014/03/great_lakes_ice_cover_update_l.htm  Hopefully all this ice actually does contribute to bringing Lake Huron back to within a few inches of its long term average.  It sure would be nice to explore parts of the small craft route through the 30,000 islands this summer.   I hear from the shoal draft crowd that there are a lot of nice places to anchor…
